Two years ago, I decided that commuting and being stuck in a cubicle in front of a blinking computer is not the life that I wanted (Well, who actually wants that?), so I quit my first job.
I took a breather for a year, and after I decided to get my life together – joined Melewi.
It turned out that working anywhere other than a confined space in an office is one of the best things life could offer. With remote working, the world is your office. I traded cab rides for plane rides, a cubicle for a table by the beach, and meeting in board rooms to having a conference by the poolside.
Almost two months ago, we had an impromptu trip to Hong Kong.
We were invited to attend RISE Conference, a tech conference in Asia hosted by Web Summit. This was like the TechCrunch episode of Silicon Valley. SO. MANY. STARTUPS. I’ve never been more scared in my life to be quite honest.
Ah, Wanderland. I still can’t believe that we’re on its third year already. It seems like it was just yesterday when Ms. Steph and I were talking about it and we were cracking our brains out for a v cool name for it. Now look at it! Kid Cudi just headlined the Wanderland Camp… no big deal, really.
I had the chance to road manage Lewis and his band for this year. I was excited to do the job (okay I’m always excited to road manage, what’s new…) cause I’m a fan of him. They’re all very nice and laid-back. Out of all the bands I’ve road managed, they are definitely my favourite. Hands down.
