Where Will You Be?

At this point in time, I honestly don’t like to imagine life without school. Life without school means corporate world. It means a shit load of responsibilities. It means a shit load of people expecting too much from you. I cringe whenever I think of my future. What will happen? Where will I be months from now?

Tomorrow is UP Engineering’s job fair. I knew this day would come. I sometimes think that I should not care anymore because I know that no company will even bother hiring (or even contact) me because I am not good enough. I am not even sure if I’ll be getting Latin honors come graduation. It sucks because companies want the best people (aka people who will graduate with Latin honors and pretty pretty flying colors) and unfortunately, I am not one of them. Did you guys know that companies are starting to contact my friends. They were like “Hey, did company A contact you for this and that?” and I was like there with my crooked smile… “No, didn’t receive anything.” IT HAPPENS ALL THE FREAKING TIME. I sometimes want to tell them ‘HEY THANKS FOR RUBBING IT IN!!!’ but most of the time, I just stand there and envy them. It probably feels good to be acknowledged by big companies.

You know what, I probably should try my luck. I might score something. I might get noticed. That will be brilliantly nice.

In all this chaos, I just want to thank Team Communication of DLSU for inviting me to be their speaker for their Graphic Design 101 class. I haven’t accepted the invitation yet but I think I will because a) I like to share what I know and b) THOSE PEOPLE ACTUALLY KNOW THAT I EXIST YAY! I actually don’t know what to feel right now but one thing’s for sure, I am really overwhelmed. It’s nice to know that people appreciate the things I do. It feels good, man. Really good. Now, I really need to learn how to use the mighty pen tool and I’m all set for it.

   I asked myself the same question, too. I feel like I’m not good enough, unlike my super-talented/awesome siblings/friends. Meh.

   Anyway, get invited to be a speaker means you’re really good!

   I feel that way, don’t you worry. You’re not alone! And I’m sure bigger and brighter things will come for you in the future, not just now, because judging from your sites, you’re great at what you do. :)

   Grrrrl, you’re good. You need to instill that in your mind ;p if no company wants you.. just put the mindset that you’re not good enough for them because you’re on a league of your own! Hahaha.

   I had the same thoughts as you right before graduation. I was completely lost (still lost now) but don’t let that stop you from “getting there” do things at your own pace, always focus on the things you love doing and it will come to you. It may take time, but it will. In the meantime, enjoy the time in school that you have left ;D
